Welcome

Dear Colleagues, Participants, Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is both an honour and a great pleasure for us, on behalf of the Hungarian Foot and Ankle Society, to invite you to our 30th Jubilee Annual Meeting, which will be held in Esztergom at the Grand Hotel.

The name, as well as the leadership of our Society was renewed in 2025. In keeping with the traditions of our Society, while embracing new perspectives, we aim to offer a professional programme that provides valuable knowledge to specialists in foot and ankle surgery and foot care, as well as to colleagues from related disciplines and all those with an interest in the field. We hope that the programme will contribute to professional development and open up new directions for clinical practice.

The choice of a new venue represents the first step in returning to the tradition of holding our annual meetings in different locations, in accordance with the wishes of our membership. Esztergom is a historic city and former coronation city, as well as former residence of our kings. Our meeting will take place in a beautiful setting, in the immediate vicinity of the largest cathedral in Hungary. The high standard of this year's congress organisation will be ensured by Asszisztencia Kft.

In preparing the scientific programme, we have sought to bring together important issues from everyday clinical practice with the latest developments and emerging directions in modern foot and ankle surgery. This year, particular emphasis will be placed on traumatology. The session devoted to modern principles in the management of ankle fractures will feature internationally renowned experts at the forefront of the field, making this section both unique and hopefully highly inspiring.

The invited lectures, free papers, workshops and symposia will cover a broad spectrum of topics in ankle and foot surgery, podiatry, physiotherapy and rehabilitation. We will continue to place particular emphasis on diabetic foot complications and current issues in chronic wound management. A dedicated session will also address current topics in podiatry.

In addition to the scientific programme, the congress will provide ample opportunities for informal encounters, friendly conversations and socialising. A banquet dinner and a range of social activities will contribute to a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

We warmly welcome our sponsors and exhibitors, whose participation will provide us with an insight into the latest developments in surgical implants, orthoses, medical devices, wound-care techniques, dressings, orthobiological materials and pharmaceuticals.

On behalf of the leadership of our Society, the Organising Committee, and myself, we are looking forward to welcome you to Esztergom.
